Circuit Riders Day 7

When eating breakfast, we met a man named Ron. He was very kind, encouraging us to get into the Word and learn about the Lord. He was there doing a football camp with a high school. We had some great conversations with him over breakfast. It was the final two days when we met him. Breakfast was mostly outside in view of the pine trees.

Session

When hosting a Bible study, it is important to get deep into scripture, build community with one another, and do life with one another. Believers need to spend their lives in community with one another helping each other through life situations.

Another important part of growing as a disciple is cultivating spiritual disciplines. Spiritual disciplines allow for us to connect with God. There are inward, outward and communal ways to connect with God. Something we did was choose three disciplines we wanted to practice or grow in. I chose meditation, solitude and worship. Since this session, I have had moments where I just practiced these disciplines. I sometimes sing in the shower, and when I was singing I just was singing out bible verses and truths about God. I have also spent time just sitting in solitude before Bible studies and realize how much my mind calms down. I realized through this that 10-20 minutes may seem like a long time to sit in silence, but it goes so quickly. We live in such a fast paced world where just sitting down and thinking seems unproductive when it is not. Meditating happens a lot of times when I am anxious. My favorite verse to repeat to myself is "be still and know that I am God". I do a meditation video to it. Overall, meditation is something I need to work more on.

Messengers

For the Messengers track, we looked into revival history and looked at what exactly was going on during these revivals. Doing this, I realized I am interested in learning more about the revivals that have taken place across history where lives have been truly changed. Having a heart for revival in our communities requires us to understand what revival truly is and pray earnestly to God, spend time daily when God, and seek after him.

Carry The Love Track

During the Carry the Love track, we talked about hosting a gathering whether a Bible study, a tour, or a prayer group. I really was lost on what I wanted to do during this. I felt like God placed something new and exciting on my heart, but I did not know what category it could belong to. This new thing is something I am planning to do this next school year on my college campus. I am so excited about it and plan to share it soon as I talk with my campus pastor and other student leaders on my campus about what the Lord has put on my heart to do.

Student-led Worship Night

After the movement track finished up, we all did a student-led worship night. We were feeling the need to worship together as people were just tired and needed to rest in the presence of God. There was a battle of spiritual warfare going on all week for me where I was tired and striving to get through the week wanting so badly to enjoy my time in California. There were also many dreams before and during the trip. There were many experiences I had like the brakes going out on my car that almost prevented me from going to Circuit Riders where God really shined through. There was a spiritual battle I could sense going on leading up to and even after circuit riders where I also realized God was always coming out on top. This night though, I actually started to get my energy back. I was there to pray over those who were tired. I shared my testimony with some of the girls who were there, and after sharing my testimony a girl was healed who came to Circuit Riders on crutches.
