Circuit Riders- Day 4

Image
Outreach On Saturday, I was super excited for the day. I was excited for evangelism through outreach. Part of our lives as believers is sharing the Gospel with others and teaching others about Jesus. In the morning session, I was activated through the talk on courage in sharing the Gospel. It is important to get over our fear of what others think of us. They talked about the importance of living true to what we preach, and how we should live in integrity. Something important in sharing the Gospel is not to bend the truth, but to state what is true and real. Then we allow God to work in their hearts. When we don't know where someone is in their walk, our obedience to God despite not knowing is where the Holy Spirit shows up! Another thing that is important to realize is that the revival in our hearts comes from the truth of the Gospel. When preaching the Gospel, our hearts need to be burning for those who need the truth of God. The message really got me excited to go out and preach ...

Circuit Riders- Day 3

The third day was a long day filled with sessions and the Carry the Love movement track. I was still very tired, but excited to continue the sessions. The third day was such a good day as we tackled some very important areas of being children of God!  Forgiveness Forgiveness is something I am no stranger to. Over this past year, I have been going through a journey of consistently forgiving what others have done and growing in compassion for those who have sinned against me. Sin, whether done by us or others against us can leave us in a burdensome state. Going into this message, we all to some degree struggle with unforgiveness or being offended. Having an unoffendable heart does not mean that what someone has done should not have an effect on you. It means that you choose to forgive someone taking off that pressure to want revenge or payback for their wrongdoings. Something we need to realize is that we need to allow people the space to be human because no one is God. God is perfec...

Circuit Riders- Day 2 (Jet Lag Met with the Power of the Holy Spirit)

I woke up at about 6:30 am not feeling great; I was tired and having cramps. It was not how I wanted  to feel on my first day, but I tried to make the best of it. Throughout the school, there was a general feeling of tiredness for about half of my time there. The cramps went away after the first day. I decided to look around before breakfast, but I stayed near to the dorm as I still did not know the campus very well that we were staying at.       I walked into the first session of the day feeling some excitement over the fatigue I was feeling. There were so many people around me. I was just wanting the first session to start. After signing some of the paperwork, I received three booklets. These booklets I had seen or heard about, and I learned throughout the week that they are very helpful resources for helping develop identity in Christ and shifting the culture of those around us.            The firs...

Circuit Riders Arrival Day

Image
I was so excited to go on my next adventure to California! I felt many nerves through my body and started to realize that I was flying alone for the first time and I was meeting people I did not know. I was nervous about security and getting to each flight on time. I could not believe that within several hours I would meet new people and start a week of growing in my faith.      Going through Grand Rapids airport was a blur for sure. Everything happened so fast and I had plenty of time to just sit and try to relax. I knew flying alone as opposed to in a group would be different, even having some perks, but I did wish that there was someone I knew with me. I sat listening to music trying to calm myself. I turned on worship music to try to calm my post going through security nerves. Of course it went smoothly, but I just felt rushed and a little uneasy flying alone for the first time.       Both planes came on time so that was a major...

Circuit Riders Acceptance and Preparation!

How far west have you been? For me, the farthest west I have gone so far before Circuit Riders has been St. Louis, Missouri. I love traveling as it gives me a chance to have new experiences. Starting around finals this year, I was thinking to myself, I think I am going to apply to Circuit Riders and see what happens. Part of this was my longing to travel, wanting to step out in my faith and see how the Lord provides through this. During finals week, I decided to check my application and I saw that I was accepted. I chose to do the Messengers Track of Circuit Riders which would teach me things like teaching, sharing God's word and the truth of the Gospel with others, and worshipping with others.  Life Long Ministry     When I applied to college, I was stepping into my calling. I see every day of my life as a chance to share the love of Jesus. I see the places I step into as places where faith should be shared. Circuit Riders is a part of obedience to the Lord...
